I (Nick Boutros) am a lay Buddhist practitioner in the Theravadin and Tibetan traditions of Buddhism. I have been practicing since 1997, and studied intensely with Bhante Henepola Gunaratana and his community and students from 1997 to 2006. I completed level one Teacher Training at Bhavana Society in 2005. In 2006, I also received a Master’s in Contemplative Psychotherapy from Naropa University in Boulder Colorado where I completed the Mindfulness Instructor certification program with Dale Asrael. In 2012, I began to study in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition with Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche in Western Massachusetts (Tsegyalgar East). In my daily practice and retreat, I continue to pursue both traditions and their overlap, especially when it comes to death contemplation, meditation and mindfulness in daily life, and loving-kindness. I currently am a psychotherapist in private practice in Western Massachusetts and teach death contemplation at Insight Western MA and online.
